About Dorset Oxygen Therapy

Dorset Oxygen Therapy offers calm, carefully paced hyperbaric oxygen sessions focused on wellness, recovery, and general vitality.

Sessions are delivered in a quiet, private setting, with time taken to ensure comfort, suitability, and a clear understanding of the process before anything begins.

Why Dorset Oxygen Therapy

Dorset Oxygen Therapy was created for people who are curious about hyperbaric oxygen but want a measured, sensible place to start.

Sessions are offered for wellness and personal recovery — not as medical treatment — and are always approached conservatively and individually.

There is no rush, no pressure, and no one-size-fits-all approach.

Our Approach

Every session is guided, unrushed, and can adapted to the individual.

Time is taken before each session to explain the chamber, answer questions, and ensure comfort throughout.

If you’re unsure where to begin, a free online consultation is available to talk things through first.

No pressure — just a conversation to see if it’s right for you.

about me

Dorset Oxygen Therapy is led by Robert J. King.

With over a decade of experience working in commercial diving and hyperbaric environments.

In these settings, hyperbaric systems are used in controlled, safety-critical conditions where pressure, oxygen delivery and exposure time are carefully managed. This is a fundamentally different environment to typical wellness use, providing a practical understanding of how these systems affect the body under real operating emergency conditions.

As a Diver Medic Technician, Mr. King is trained in how pressure and high-concentration oxygen interact with the body, how to deliver oxygen safely, and how to recognise when its use is appropriate.

This experience directly informs how sessions at Dorset Oxygen Therapy are structured and delivered.

This includes an understanding of oxygen exposure limits, including OTUs (Oxygen Toxicity Units) and CNS (Central Nervous System) considerations, which are used to monitor and manage how the body responds to oxygen under pressure. In practical terms, this ensures sessions are delivered within appropriate exposure limits, balancing effectiveness with safety.

"The chamber operates at pressures up to 2.0 ATA. This is higher than many standard wellness hyperbaric setups, which commonly operate in the range of 1.3–1.5 ATA.

At increased pressure, more oxygen is able to dissolve into the bloodstream and tissues during a session. In practical terms, this allows oxygen delivery to be more effective, enabling sessions to be run with greater efficiency and control."

Rather than treating pressure as a fixed setting, sessions are approached with an understanding of how pressure, oxygen flow and time interact. This allows for a structured approach to each session, based on experience with real hyperbaric system use rather than generalised wellness application.

Dorset Oxygen Therapy has been established to provide access to this level of structured hyperbaric exposure in a professional and controlled environment.
